Granny's gone and done it again

I was thinking trio and raise the babys to eat  . I would need a different pen for that ?

They won't raise their own is all. It's difficult to get game birds to set their own eggs in captivity. So, you'd be hatching them in a bator. Most people who raise them seriously also raise lines of super broody chickens to do their hatching.

my great-uncle always did trio's of the golden I honestly have no idea what he ever did with the chicks. must have sold them. I do remember their runs being totally fenced on top as well and then little "huts" and other places for the hens to hide from the roo and or build a nest

my serama coop would be perfect for them. I know they need room.

were you going to incubate the egg's or let the hen's do the work ?? I would think you could raise the incubated chicks together until it was time for them to all get on the bus to freezer camp

I hadnt thought that far. I assumed they would raise them an they must be fast growing

Not as much as you'd think. Since I'm going by later, I'll take pics of the neighbor's pheasant setup. They raised Red Goldens for many years in their pens.

Uh...well...see me and that neighbor don't get along much. I can take pics because the pheasant pen is literally touching the fence between our properties. I can guarantee they didn't eat them. They were just eye candy to show off to all their friends visiting from California. One day, they just let all of them loose when they got tired of them. Did the same thing to a batch of mallard ducks. Same birds that are now in my flock of ducks.

Watched Hocus Pocus last night. cracks me up. You know thats where my cat Binks got his name from but there was another part when Bette M. walks into a kitchen and screams in delight, "A torture chamber !" LOL Had to been where I got that from.
