Granny's gone and done it again

Leaf lard is the highest grade of lard. All lard is rendered pork fat; the term is usually used to refer to rendered pork fat suitable for cooking. Leaf lard specifically comes from the visceral, or soft, fat from around the kidneys and loin of the pig.

it isn't grainy like regular lard can be very smooth feeling when you rub it between your fingers. Like hand lotion only a little stiffer until it warms up
 
also leaf lard doesn't have any "porky" flavor to it or smell when you are rendering it down. I then can mine in quart jars. when I have enough. will keep pretty much forever unless the lid didn't seal.

Thanks for waiting up! I have to start cooking tomorrow. Everything has to be ready to take up to mil's on Thurs. Believe it or not, it will be infinitely less stressful this way!

yes and we could still tank just take turns LOL I actually bought 2 -1 quart bottles/jugs of cream.

I always use either milk or cream and butter (hot) to add to my taters when beating them up with the mixer to make mashed.
