welding lets me play with fire and alot of work here for it.

Welding is a great skill to have --- you could always go south and seek a placement at the shipyards on the coast -- welders make great money with them.

But it's the really good kind of crap!

My younger, 15, is already plotting escape! He has a whole flatware set (from a thrift store) including a pie server

for when I get my own place. Our boys are probably in the same grade- sophomore? and would get along I bet. They like to build stuff! #2 keeps asking if the neighbor across the street gas a lathe. One of the few tools we don't have!

Ah, yes, that wonderful age -- have to love the fact that he has flatware, he's really preparing and planning ahead! I do think they'd likely get along very well, and yes DS is a sophomore too.

that is really hard on back and knee's and that is with out being abused by your 1000 lb plus clients
Very much so, our regular farrier was out for several months at a time over the last few years we were in IN and had the horses at our place --- all due to on the job injuries -- and even when he wasn't currently injured the lasting effects of previous injuries had him permanently effected.

When a man has a deep voice like that, and you lay your head on their chest, the sound goes right through you. Make of that what you will...
You are so right. Not quite the same way you are going with this, but one of the things I most remember and treasure about my daddy was his wonderful, deep voice and how it felt to sit in his lap, head on his chest, and hear/feel him talk or sing............
