If i disappear for a few days dont freak out. They are predictin up to 1" of freezing rain & that will take down power lines here. Supposed to start at noon. Snow tonight. 3" they predict. High saturday of 32*. Cooking my sweet tator pie & meat loaf now. Made extra tea. What will we do without coffee?

I hear ya - we're buckling down for snow changing over to freezing rain. Cancelled the trip to sister's place for this weekend - fixing to hunker down and hide from the locals that can't drive for crap in anything other than a bright, sunny day.

Sadly have today off. Got so much to do at the office and having it be two weeks in a row of Monday off kind of hoops me (and I do need the money) but boss lady....sigh. Even though we're crazy busy we won't get paid for these jobs for a bit so she's trying to tighten up on payroll as she can. I think she's choked I took a sick day last week and some sick hours to make up for Monday off and some time I had to run off for house stuff.

Hubs is taking a sick day today. Hmmm. Well, he may be called in to get things done today. Got some more bits n bobs to move and gotta set up big kid internet and all that jazz.

Aaaand....since it rained yesterday the road into us has turned into slicker than whale snot...snot! Was interesting driving my wagon home...almost thought I'd get stuck...keep the momentum up keep the momentum up....need to get offroadvo fixed! That thing has much better tires for the mud! (And higher ground clearance!)

The girls were giving hubs the stink eye and guilt squawks yesterday when he checked on them. Sigh. Sunday I hope. I miss my girls!!! I need to get them some fresh straw too. All the rain....no bueno.

Once we move them, I'll put sand in there though. Would just be way too much weight for the crane though with sand to move it.

I've got a lot of catching up to do, but how is everyone?

Was just going to suggest french press -- my mom uses one and it would definitely circumvent the lack of power. Sorry about the lost time and pay for work today -- but hopefully you do get stuff accomplished at least, especially with your DH off as well. You'll have to take pictures of moving with the crane!

Gd & me put extra feed out & extra pails of water. Not going out on ice. Gd going home to mom soon. We may not have any heat but fireplace which without blower doesnt heat well.

Sounds like you're getting all set - but won't the extra water buckets just freeze up?

I thought I felt really bad when I first woke up. Now Im just happy to still be breathing. So many problems with my friends . I lost a FB friend this am as well.

We werent the big friends just talked once in a while. Matter of fact he is the one that sent me the "picture" wanting DD to pierce him.   He was a nudest and very happy with life. Unfortunately he had a bad heart.  He was my age.

I get the feeling I may have to play a bit dirty here regarding the chicken situation -- DH is starting to get wishy washy on the timing of it all making it sound like he's thinking of trying to put me off this year, NOT GOING TO HAPPEN! No biggy, I'll just wait until the next time his dad is here for dinner and start showing him my coop inspirations and make mention of wanting it built for my birthday present......I'm not one to play dirty, but I have made a LOT of compromises in this whole move, living in this particular town, have a lot of stress over some other stuff right now, etc and the *one* thing I want to try to bring a little bit of happy back to me is some freaking chickens and he already promised so sorry not sorry.
In other news, I think I've narrowed my list to Buff Orp, Speckled Sussex, Crested Cream Legbar, Blue Laced Red Wyandotte, Cukoo Maran and........not sure on #6, may just double up on one of those breeds or see what tickles my fancy once I go to pick up chicks, lol. I should be able to get all but the CCL at the farm store I used to work for out here as they get an amazing variety of breeds (compared to what TSC and RK used to offer back in Indiana). I

yes, grand baby . little one Well, he was the only nudest I knew. Kinda fascinating to feel that free . There is a nudest camp in Bennington not far at all from me. They hire amish to come work just because they think its funny would be my guess. Amish friend said he never seen so much ask in his whole life. LOL
