If you save/freeze the shrimp and lobster shells, you can make a seafood base broth for next time. I saved up some dungeness crab shells and made a bunch of broth for cioppino (fisherman's stew). It came out yellow! It's in the freezer until I need it. Hopefully soon, before crab season ends!

Crud I didn't even think about all the shrimp shells in my freezer, the ones I saved last time to make broth....
O well...I'll add some of these new shells to it for next time.

I am going to leave the heads/shells on these huge shrimp when i cook them but take the shells off the "regular" ones.

Any bones will work. Roasting first adds better flavor. I like the taste turkey gives.

Haha! I have lots of stuff lost in my freezer.

The shells don't take as long to cook out the flavor. If you have a sieve that can fit on your soup pot, you could add shells and let them cook a bit (about an hour at very low simmer) then just lift them out in the strainer.

I prefer it shorter than that. I don't like it on my shoulders. Wish I had time to get it cut before my big date tonight!

Camp who watches the kids when ya'll go out?
Just wondering...do you have to bring them somewhere or are they able to stay in your home?

I use to babysit when I was a kid....
I don't have family close to me...all are about an hour away....Houston is big but traffic is bigger.
i didn't trust anyone enough to watch the kids....not that the older one is old enough to babysit I never want to do anything!
