yes, I agree but his feet and legs are bad . and because of my surgery I am having a hard time with shoes. I did intend to ask if I can get a coupon off here for my shoe store ? Has anyone ever done that ?

They try to get my humming bird feeders , I spray pam on the post. instant kill.  I use the little ant baits in the house when they come in and they are gone by the next am but I dont have much problems with them.  Once a yr maybe.

They are addicted to hummingbird nectar! I tried the Pam and it didn't work. We ended up moving the feeder last year.

Im trying to think of a cool science fair project for the kids.
Im thinking this might be a good experiment.

Someone did which eggs will hatch? at our school. They used grocery store eggs, fresh farm eggs and refrigerated farm eggs. It was cool! They went around and took a poll in the school before they set them.

fried burgers, made another bowl of rabbit food as it seems my last disappeared out of the fridge, Bowl and all !     Im not that forgetful to where I am not going to miss a bowl I have had for 20 odd yrs. 
step SIL called, DD still in ICU.  Hospital still running on generator.  No tv, no hot food.

Did someone break your bowl???  Kids drive me crazy.  I've had a book or a toy for over 40 years. They get hold of it and ruined in an instant!

I actually would love to take some on line courses. I have wanted to for a very long time. I just know with my memory its not feasible to even try.

Wishing, could I trouble you for that peanut butter/borax ant bait recipe again? I looked up several online but none of them seemed right. The ants are nesting right where pancake is nesting, so I need to get them killed off before the chicks get here.

The trick is putting enough borax in to kill the ants, but not so quickly that they croak before getting the bait back to the nest to share.  I will try to find a recipe.  Think I was looking on youtube.  Peanut butter for protein eating ants, sugar or corn syrup for sugar ants.  You have to keep the chickens from eating it.  Remind me if I don't post it later tonight.  Dinner time approaches, so it will be awhile.

 
How long does it take for a chicken to eat something to make the color of their yolk change?


I have read that if they eat marigold flowers the yolk will turn more orange.
Would they need to eat it the day before...and the next day the yolk would show it...
Or would they need to eat it for days before a color change is noticed?


Just curious.

Sounds like an excellent science experiment!  Let us know what you find out. 

They def eat protein, they'll pick bones clean from dead animals. FUN FACT! if you drop a dead snake on an ant pile it's reflexes make it crawl away.

I have some little plastic containers from snacks today. Put bait in, glue the lids on, poke holes.
