Granny's gone and done it again

Will gardenia grow where you are? That's a favorite around here. And it's an evergreen! And the flowers smell THE BEST. Azaleas are also dense evergreens. I was surprised to see you say lantana!

It will but I haven't had the best of luck with it. I had one that was doing fabulously (in a pot), we moved and it died. The front door to the old place were also bordered by gardenias. One died. (To be fair landscaping wasn't our duty at the old place. Landlord would get cross if he saw me weeding lol)

I may want to try again...but not a full hedge worth.

chickens fed, dinner over, been working on the background. Its slow going . waiting on paint to dry is the worst.   I thought I heard a chick earlier but probably wishful thinking. Havent heard anything since.   I usually have pips on day 18 and some times a chick. I got nada.

Its too quiet ..

Sorry, I was driving in the rain and considering calling kiki so shed know.

Ps camping. Pancake was going full raptor on you lol. Oh the broody noises! Hope she'll be a good mama! She is gorgeous!

I have the miniature kind in a front bed and a BIG one near the house. That's the "safe spot" they run to when something scares them.

She's doing great so far! We'll know by this time next week. :fl

I had to go to TSC today and I managed to stare right at a couple silkies AND THEN walk away without them. AND I had TWO coupons: one for $5 off of $25 and one for $10 off of $50, including clearance. I used them both. :hide

I'm going to try to make pho bun and spring rolls, so I shopped at the Asian market for the first time today. It was really cluttered but very neat!

I got a pretty mint!

Oh that's a dangerous place. Good luck with the pho!!

I gotta go to tsc. I got those same coupons and need shavings and oyster shell. Fresh out of both. Fresh out of layer feed too, but I get that somewhere else. (Don't worry, the girls feeder is full, and they are free ranging all day so that'll last em a while)

*ninja edit* that is a fine looking mint!!!

I ALSO got shavings and layer. I bought feather fixer for the honas, going to see if if makes them extra pretty.

And I got bubba this awesome little toy for his bday.

Well. Productive morning...got my shortlist for hedging between the neighbor's fence and the chicken run down to eleven plants.

Yes I'm crazy. We have a chain link fence but I want to a) reinforce that a bit with deer netting since hubs won't let me do hardware cloth so my chickens aren't idiots and stick their heads through the chain link) and I want to do a shrubbery bordering that so it a) hides netting and b) blocks the neighbor's dogs view and c) gives the girls some
Shelter and shade. They don't have much for that right now...need to get on that before it gets really hot.

We had a lantana hedge at the old place that sparkles liked to lay in....so that's in the running since the girls mostly left it alone. Rosemary I know they also generally leave alone...so many choices.
Not crazy at all -- that sounds like very sound reasoning and planning. You and your birds will be so much happier with the extra layers in place!

When we were looking at this house only half the back length was fenced with cedar privacy fence - there is chain link that runs the entire length that actually belongs to the apartments behind us and the privacy fence went fully along both sides so the area was contained but with a good length of it in just the chain link. I decided then and there that if we moved in the privacy fence WOULD be finished because I don't want anyone poking fingers (or anything else) through the fence at my dog *or* the dogs on the other side of the fence in each of the apartment sections to see our dog/us and charge the fence (as we saw them do while we were just here looking)/have the people looking through at us. I asked LL if it would be okay if we finished the fence, they said of course - and then when we came back to sign papers a few days later the fence was already done (did I mention lately I really, really love our LL)

We are not doing the piñata , I would rather just throw candy on the ground and let them get it. I don't like the piñata plus three year olds really can't swing the bat hard enough.

The only thing pinatas are good for is the obligatory "nut shot" videos on America's Funniest Videos
