I have pips in two Mavis eggs and two of the blue Texas eggs. They're not popping like these others, which makes me think it's a problem with my eggs.

I can see the one with the big comb, and the bottom one still hatching has a big comb too!  Maybe they just look big since their hair is slicked back??




Sorry to hear you've been sick.  Wanted to ask you about Bernevelders...  do you have them?  recommend them?

There's a TENUOUS possibility of autosexing at hatch. The sharp, well-defined V could be an indicator of female. I think they get their big combs from the leghorn?

Tsc had ducks,bslink,bantom,rir,yellow not labeled chicks. GD & me resisted temptation. Got cracked corn to get the chickens through til wednesday

It is tempting. Do you think your broody hen would adopt a couple of chicks? A lot easier to take care of that way.

I hurt bandit He wont leave star alone and I smacked him. I didnt smack hard but I accidentally hit his ear. He didnt cry but he shook his head a couple times. He is good if I go out with them but I cant go every 15 min. he wants to and star is showing her age . She dont even want to go out with him anymore. I have been taking her with me for rides and a little extra attention.

Wishing, do you remember when I slid down the ramp ? Back started hurting like 2 days later and someone told me a strain can take 6 weeks to heal. Is that right ? Wondering how much longer I have ?

Strains can take a long time to heal, especially when you can't rest it completely. I don't think there is a time frame. When I hurt my shoulder it ached for 8 months. If your back is that painful, you should go see someone. You might have cracked some ribs, given your fragile bones.

Its a constant hurt and hurt to take deep breath. But, hurts worse when I move so thats why I figure muscle. I twisted it but didnt fall on it.
