they aren't or at least mine were NOT as big a hen as the other breeds. Which would mean they will/should need less feed. They are a very TASTY

LOL - I may or may not have used that on DH a time or two back in Indiana

Or, Chickens cant count past 3.
Wonder what the fine is Mare ?

Technically the limit in the city limit is 3, but you can apply for a permit to exceed that by being considered an "animal facility" -- the limit of 6 is more of a self-imposed/negotiated limit between DH and I as I could apply for any number (within reason, lol) and as long as it was approved I'd be okay, but we settled on the six for now.......the coop could accommodate at least 8, so maybe we'll revisit the number when it's time to renew the license in two years. I'd be tempted to say screw the license and just wait to be caught *but* we've had a couple of issues with the folks in the apartments that are behind us (looking right down into the back yard where the birds will be) so I know it wouldn't be but 5 minutes before someone called in a complaint. I'm already planning a nice, tall, hedgerow along that back fence line to take out as much of their view as I can.

aww, that sucks. I know 6 is enough but thats gotta be hard to pick who stays.

Well, if a few more decide to be male it won't be hard at all, lol.
