Not all small dogs ars vicious. Papillons are sweet! My first dog, a chihuahua, went everywhere with me. I even smuggled him in to school. He was friendly. If you called him, he would gladly sit on your lap. The one my brother had was nasty because he used to tease it.

Get a dog that has low dander, a "hypoallergenic" breed. Poodle, yorkie, Maltese I think is one also.
Maybe you could toilet train him.
My feed store said they would buy my roosters. 7.50 a piece. Not worth it.
