are you familiar w/ the cookie tin bases ? I am having a time finding light bulbs for them.

I am going to build something similar. Yes, it is really hard getting regular light bulbs reasonably. Sometimes you can still find 60 watt yellow bug lights.

I was 6 when we moved out here. Huckleberries, sticker bushes, turtles in the woods, fireflies!!! and summer rain. I miss all that... good memories.

Yes, our dirt road is not county maintained. I have a 4x4 truck. We are getting a generator, extra gas and food. Husband has lots of wood cut for the woodstove.

hmm, havent looked for bug lights. I use 40 watt here and I dont use a temp, switch. a fire started under the hay last yr. I hope to use something else. I bought the metal base and it didnt last a season and today I see they are selling them in the plastic.

What about some type of aquarium heater? Would that work?

I have good memories of autumn in New Jersey... all the beautiful colors and the smell of the earth. My absolute favorite time of year. Things are slowing down, getting ready for a rest. It's like that lovely time before bed, after a shower and cozy in jammies, looking forward to a well deserved rest. We don't get that here. Every once in a while, I smell the musty odor of fall leaves, and it takes me right back.

Isn't it amazing how a fragrance can jog your memory like that? Sometimes I will smell something and I will know what it is but I can't recall it. That bugs the daylights out of me

depends on what you use for waterer . I have a pond deicer and wish I had put a pond in. I was thinking a pond on the outside of the coop with a corner inside for access but its just too overwhelming for me to think it all through.

I have thought about it. Was even looking at taking the train. Hubs is off to Toronto until Sunday, so I have to be here. But next year... #2 will have his license and I will be free!
