Granny's gone and done it again

Hayley is mine. I showed her in 4H in 2008? She’ll be 10 in the spring. I think she’s the oldest now. We sold freckles (Syvens Mom) this summer. She was born in 2001.

The others belong to my parents.
soo, you own a cow. why does this surprise me ? What exactly do you DO with a cow for 10 yrs besides well, you know.

What :th those are at least $5 babies. Not common colors.

oh heck no !

I already set prices with the guy. It wasn't a planned hatch, and there had been a silkie in there so I wasn't sure they'd be pure. I have no ideal what they'll look like when grown, either. Any color they are will be a mess later bc of the calico roo.

I dont know what I seen. Last night , I seen these white specks on the top of the feathers. this am they were moving. I tossed the chicken and dusted the cage. I dont want to put anything on the babies unless I know what I am supposed to use. Is there a product that kills all no matter what it is ?

Well, if you see a whole bunch of them in one spot, I would spray them, but those kind of mites mostly live on the chickens. The Red mites are when you have to spray the coop.

I still think you have N Fowl mites... and if it were me, I would Ivermectin all my birds. If you think it is poultry LICE, then you will need to dust or spray the birds with something, as they are apparently not blood suckers. (I have not researched them, only pics so you can identify the problem). This has been a persistent problem for you, which is why I suspect mites.

So no, you don't NEED the spray, unless you have lice or red mites. But I still think it's good to have on hand. For example, I would have soaked that dead rooster to kill off everything, put him in a plastic bag, and stuck it in the garbage. By tossing him, you still have the problem on the property, and the wild birds will bring it all back.

Please, get Permethrin spray... if you continue use of Ivermectin the mites will become resistant and you will have a really hard time getting rid of them... always rotate which products you use.
