Did it look infected? Anything minor a dog or cat can reach licking, I leave alone after cleaning it. Vet will say otherwise, but the animals seem to do fine keeping it clean and open on their own. Vet will say I'm crazy, but on the small stuff, I've had good luck. She can't lick her head, so keep an eye on it. First sign of infection, peroxide or betadine or whatever ya got.

Yeah, don't know how they do it. I've had cats with big abscesses on their side. Once it opens up and you squeeze out the nasty, it doesn't seem to bother them much. Both healed up fine.

thats what happened to my cat except it was on his butt .
