#2 dug a hole big enough for the rose and #1 used a post hole digger to go deeper for Junior. She got a little hay nest and covered with hay as well. Layer of dirt clods and rocks, and the rose will go on top with lots of compost because my soil sucks.
Most hens go up to the farm and put out in the orchard for the critters to clean up.

Circle of life I remember that but Junior was special to you. I am sorry for your loss

I chunk mine in the woods. Coyotes get them . Its really all I can do.

haha Wishing, I felt like beating him with it. I dont know if he was being sweet or trying to turn my new slippers into a chew toy.
I found an open puncture wound on Frostys head last night. Well, Robert found it.

I don't let the dogs pick up shoes. Bad habit to get into as you will eventually lose a shoe, either hidden or chewed. Scooter has a little basket of toys, self serve. Shares with the cats.

Did I tell I replaced some serama eggs yesterday with some LF ? I was hoping Ally would keep up with it again. LOL Is that terrible of me ? I dont know how many days the others have left. A week maybe. I will be brooding chicks again.

I dont let them either but he didnt chew, he just brought it and laid it on the arm of my chair. Wanting to go somewhere I suspect.

I remember teaching 6th graders about decomposers and scavengers. Ooo grooosss is all I heard until I explained how important they are. Told them to imagine every creature that ever lived on earth, since the beginning of time, still laying where it died. Dinosaurs and mastodons, birds and bugs, would be piled to the sky. Changed their minds.

Bandit and Frosty play rough. I imagine thats a tooth. I used antibiotic on it.
BTW, Peeps now saying anti w/ pain is safe for chickens.
