Granny's gone and done it again

Everyone still hanging in there. Seem to be getting stronger, hopefully their own quiet little house will help. I put tape shoes on everyone with toes out of place. I just stuck them in position on sports tape and then folded it over so maybe there will be a bit of flex to it. I haven’t seen them eat much, but it’s like preemies? I guess maybe they’re still growing/developing. I have seen more of them drink on their own.

Are they doing that drop dead sleep thing? Always scares me.

Say Cap not sure if you saw my question or not

What's the "useful" breeding span (time) on a breeding buck and a doe ???
No sorry Twist, i missed that somehow. It differs, but most people don't breed does after 4 or 5 years. I guess bucks would be much longer. I was only breeding rabbits for a few years when i had to sell all of them and move back to FL

When i get chicks , as i take them out of the box i put each ones beak in the water so they get a drink. Next thing they are pecking feed and eating. If they are having a hard time maybe feed mashed up boiled eggs for extra protein.

ditto each chick get's "dunked" and checked over and then watched until they figure out that "here this is water and I am thirsty" before the next chick is treated to the same procedure

The “bought” chicks are all doing great eating and drinking. I’ve dunked each of the special ones several times, but I think they were too stressed/trampled with the vigorous chicks. Hoping they really perk up now.

Yep, and with one leg straight in the air because of the tape. Each has a “good” leg that is getting stronger and bearing weight so they can hobble on legs and rely less on their wings. I’m really starting to feel more optimistic. :fl

reminds me of that thing kids used to have to do "flat self" they would send around to relatives and then you have to take this "poster child" around with you and take pic of it at different things, events in your area and then forward. FLAT CHICKS
