Granny's gone and done it again

So get home tonight. Go outside. Notice the patio couch has been worked on by the dog. I am surprised and confused. Ten and a half years old and the entire ten years she’s been with me, she’s never tried to destroy furniture before...so I stop and think. There was a baby bunny under there at one point. Was the baby bunny teasing her? Lift up the sofa...nope. See this.

Poor little fledgling starling.

Hubs had to help me catch it when he came home cause the couch is heavy so holding it up with one arm and trying to catch a bitty with the other....yeah no. So we catch it...now what? Hubs starts looking at starling care. I end up scrambling an egg to try to feed it in the meantime (that didn’t go over well) and eventually the decision was made.

This is how we get High on 4/20.

Yep. Hubs had me lift him up so he could put the starling back up there.

:hugs:lol:

I think hubs was a little surprised and a bit upset that peach tore up a bit of the couch....but he can’t be mad at her - he understands the taunting of the fledgling. Well. No ill effects from the vinyl and bits. And luckily this was a side of the road find from years ago so really...shrug.

Went outside this am to do the chicken chores. Neighbors dogs. Barking. Nonstop. Six thirty on a Saturday morning. Ughhhh. I may just say hey. Can you just leave the bark collar on (the worst offender) overnight? Cause come on. Your jerk dogs aren’t going to make me stop caring for my chickens...but some people (hubs, other neighbors) I’m pretty sure are still trying to sleep.

Meanwhile peach was hanging out outside the coop, not a peep. (Now I know when I’m not home and she’s in the yard she probably does alert to things. But...that’s during regular business hours during the week. (And I doubt nonstop. She’s more the type to just hang out if she doesn’t see anything to guard against) Not all night all morning all the time.

Ps. Good morning y’all!!

The kids found a praying mantis!
