Wow, i had a nap 2 days in a row!
Hubby saw one of the quail today but lost sight of it before he could catch it. Good news, its still alive.

Thats good to hear. Next thing you know you will have a wild quail population started.

Cap, You are the only person I know that could actually catch a quail. I read of peeps having them in a room of their house and get loose and still cant catch them.

We already have wild quail. Coturnix will not sit on their eggs so no danger of populating the wild.

Maybe this particular quail will mate with a wild one and it will sit on the eggs.

My Dad bet me i couldn't catch baby flounders when i was skin diving in the ocean. Had no net, but i caught them any way.

Different species, so the babies would be mules and not fertile.

Then you need to lose a few more Coturnix and maybe wild quail will show them how to hatch and brood. Or, I guess you could capture the one loose bird.
