I cant stop crying.

Its not a pop door. Its full sized. I have a man out there cleaning right now. He is digging a hole to put them in. I have also just advertised someone to come get the rest of my chickens including littles.

I'm glad you got some help and someone to take them. Feels bad now, but it is a good decision and will take some stress off you. Maybe in the future you can rehab one of your coops... raise up the floor so the rain won't be so problematic and build a bomb proof sleeping quarters. Just enough for a few laying hens.
If you're desperate for a bird, there's always Rodney.

I am sure going to miss them but maybe its for the best. I wanted to keep a few for eggs . I guess it just wasnt meant to be.

I ate a bologna sandwich today.

Brings back childhood... bologna sandwich with mustard everyday for grade school lunch. Well, every day that I didn't get PBJ.

And I came upstairs, the California quail babies that got soaking wet are all dead except one. Crap.

So the family that got moose boy shows up at 1 pm ON THE DOT (LOL) we visited and did the paper work, little girl ask Robert for help with the new color for the pup. Has a metal bone on it with MOOSE engraved on it. In other words that pup is going to be well loved and spoiled.

It must feel good to find such a good home for your moose boy. That's why I can't raise animals... having to send the youngsters out into the great unknown. Wonderful they are keeping his name. He's going to have a good life.

SO maybe my pups actual name is Magdalena which works as I wanted to re-use Lena's name and a Mag refers to weapons/arsenull and the there was mary madgalene (sp)

We considered Lena for a name if we had had a girl. I agree with granny, Maggie is a great name for a dog.

have been in the 90's the past 2/3 days and humidity almost as bad as down south. And I have been working like a dog in it , BUT the apartment is ready for carpet and vinyl install and then to move in fridge, stove, microwave, hang new bathroom sink and re-install the toilet, put on switch plates and outlet covers. VIOLA" done.

You should come out to wine country for a vacation... I have some remodeling you can do too!!!

Hi Wishing, I thought you gone. When I let them free range I would have one come up missing in the middle of the day so I stopped and hadnt lost one since. Nope, this was/is a complete shock to me.

Yeah. With all the rain the ground is easier to dig. I don't worry much in the summer about something digging under, but in the rainy season, I keep watch. We did bury hardware cloth for the main run, but the Serama run only has chicken wire buried.

well that chicken wire is an accident just waiting to happen. We are dry and ground is hard and cracked. What do you think did it ? I seen tire tracks in the yard on the other side of Toms cabin. Maybe we got vampires.
