Granny's gone and done it again

And no, I have not seen the rooster. The dog was running off something in the woods on the far side of the driveway. Might have been a critter, could have been the roo. Though she generally ignores chickens, maybe she thought it didn't belong since it was over there. I am in no shape to go through the woods and up and down hills looking for a stray rooster. I need to get ready for this coop delivery. Already moved some chain link fence and part of the wood pile. Taking a cooling break now.
The best thing for your tank might be adding gravel from an established tank, or dirty filter material to get those good bacteria. Or even water from another tank might help.
I did add a small amount of gravel from another tank. Maybe 1/2 cup. and a couple plastic plants. I have been researching my rocks and they seem safe .
It is very hot out there. I hope you are trying to take it slow.
I just changed my old tanks filter to new. Would it still have the needed bacteria on it ?

Give it a few days, then it should be good.
And the rooster came back, over on the wrong side of the driveway. The dog saw it and I told her no. I walked over to him, talked to him and picked him up. Put him back in the cage with his brothers, but the door is open since it is so hot. Hope he learned his lesson.
Yes, I only do a little work, then come back in. Luckily it is shady over there. So far I got half the wood pile moved. The guy will be here in a little over an hour. He said it took a long time to get the coop on the trailer. He is bringing a run too!

Thats great news Cap. What size is the coop?

speaking of always doing things the hard way. I have feeder goldfish outside. Now , IF I can catch one it will tell me the truth.
Heat warning here. 91 index 101
Our thermometer says 96.6° . I don't want to think about the heat index.
I am getting a kids picnic table and a slide tonight, both for $15. What a deal!

Only 4x6 and 5.5 feet high, but it will be great for broodies or these young chickens I got from Murray McMurrays. And it is supposed to be very well built. Has nest boxes too!
