I just hatched 10 chicks. We have around 20 laying hens. I have an abundance of eggs. We advertised on FB and sold out in about 4 hrs. I need to drive to the mill tomorrow.

Well wheres the picture ?? H2o Has GONE AND DONE IT AGAIN !!!

Well, advise please, I need food/ milk TP . Do I go out w/ this cough and TRY to shop ? Aldies , it was told , has just locked their doors. No food.
Are the trucks not delivering or ? What would I buy that would keep assuming I have enough money to even buy anything. I am really wishing I had a couple laying hens right about now.

Avoid big stores, everyone goes there. Our small town has a good selection in the grocery store. Buy what you like to eat. Personally, the next time I go to a grocery store, I am going to buy tuna and other canned meats. Potatoes, and carrots, maybe make a stew. They have seasoning packets for that. And eggs are a good source of protein.

Thanks Cap. How do you store potatoes ? I got some free when I went to drs w/Tom. I could of gotten tons but I got about 10 lbs

Just remembered some of what my GM used to do w/ her root veggies. She would dig a hole in the yard and layer it with leaves. I cant remember if there was anything else or not then when she needed some she would go dig them.

I tried making cabbage today. Hard as a rock.
Im a little nervous about the food situation. Thats why Twist dont have eggs. They want the freshest possible so they will keep the longest in case we dont get any more.
I feel like I need to go shopping and get what I can. Im trying not to play into this panic but its hard when everyone else is grabbing everything and your sitting here doing nothing. What if they dont get more milk or butter ? eggs, whatever ya know ? Yall have meat and eggs .I dont have much of anything here.
What I do have is a bad dry cough. Shoot, Im libel to get stoned by these rednecks showing up in public.

I am thinking the milk and eggs will get to the stores... it's not like it can be stored forever. Don't forget CVS carries those things too. Maybe you can call ahead and see if they have what you want before making the trip.
Living in earthquake country, I am prepared. Got enough food for a few weeks for the whole family. Might not be exactly what we want to eat, but we won't starve.

I thought you were suppose to chop it up. It is hard not panic when everyone is goin crazy. School shut down for a month. Church shut down for a month. All the dog shows cancelled. I hope shutting everything down for month works.

They are trying to slow the spread as much as possible. If we have a huge amount of folks getting very sick all at the same time, there will not be enough hospital beds and necessary equipment to treat everyone. That is what happened in Italy... they have a large senior population, and a lot of them are dying because the hospitals are overfull.

I seen a recipe for cabbage steaks. Looked really good. Looks CAN be deceiving.

I like cooked cabbage, especially in Chinese stir fry.

I was reading the CDC website and we went from one case to 15 I believe. Ca. was worse.

Washington state is the worst because the virus got into a retirement home, and the older people don't handle this virus well. It hit them before they really knew what it was.

I think grocery stores are about the only place people are going to keep open for sure. You might have to get creative and buy food you don't normally eat.

In the dark where it's cool. Brown paper bag is good on the floor of a pantry. They go green and the eyes will sprout if they get in the light.
