Granny's gone and done it again

Trying to dye a terra cotta pot today. I feel like Wishing and her eggs! I had saved red onion skins sand red cabbage leaves. I boiled them awhile with a good bit of salt. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Then I added some vinegar. The results aren’t great. And the house smells awful. 😂 but I’m thinking of boiling it down into a cabbage and onion juice reduction and soaking it again.

Me thinks Me would have been boiling that outside on the barbie... phewwwww!

hehe, lil Bielefelder was taking a dust bath in the big food tray when I stuck dry food in there.. she kicked that stuff everywhere including on the black marans (YAY, it's showing copper in the wings now under sunlight), so everyone else was using the lil marans like a movable snack tray.. He/she didn't think that was funny.. they were stealing his hidden stash!

I think I'm 'H' on the otter scale today!

They are delivering our new washing machine on the 8th between 3 and 7 pm. Our washer took a major dump last week. I love it when I get to mop the utility room floor 5 times plus use the shop vac to suck up all the flood. I mean the old machine was only 35 years old, geesh they just don't make em like they used to. :lau

In the mean time I am running out of laundry basket room.

Today I went out to start prepping the shed for the new wall that will be going in after they deliver the lumber next Wednesday. When we bought our farm we wanted to install a shower and found a perfect unused shower stall that was left in one of the sheds. Only problem was we couldn't get it apart without wrecking it and the door was too small to get it out. So we tore the wall off. 5 years ago, we set a new wall, dividing the shed in half. The back south half became my coop, the front held our diesel tank. Last month, DH drug the diesel tank out and we plan to put in a new 'north facing' wall. That area will become my bachelor coop in the winter and broody coop in the summer. I plan to take pictures of the build.

Then I spent the afternoon slapping stain on the deck and myself but got the job almost done. Still have two steps to do but I have flower sitting on them that I moved from the deck when I cleaned it pre painting.

More projects than good sense but they are calling for rain the first part of the week followed by down right chilly temps for September in Missouri. Highs only in the 50s with lows in the 40s for almost a week.

@Granny Hatchet, how ever did you manage to get angels to breed for you? I had three angels in a big 20 gallon tank that I bought as babies and grew them to saucer size. The pet store that I sold them to was amazed and told me that just about everything about angels was hard to manage.

I've always wanted to have a salt water aquarium but with 5 cats in the house...it's like trying to brood chicks in the house. We would keep them safe but it's a bit unnerving finding one of the cats sitting on top of my brooder just 'watching' and dreaming about 'dinner' inside.

I did the unthinkable today..

with all the 'first responders' blowing past the house nearly daily, ambulances and policemen alike, I thought I would show my support for all the hard work they do... Screw the neighbors!

I've really got to get the greenhouse a cover.. this jungle needs a place to live this winter besides the house.
