Granny's gone and done it again

Droopy goats, dog poops, cow patty poops. I knew what it was but had a fecal done at the vet so I could get meds. Everyone was eating fine but when I got my hands on them the smaller goats felt thinner under all the hair.

Horse stall pellets! Game changer! They last forever unless your chicks like to knock the water over. I only change the brooder bedding like once(sometimes) because of them. The brooder doesn't end up smelling bad like when I used pine shavings that I had to change 2x a week.

stall pellets are ah-maze-ing

yay lunch time.

Yes, those stall pellets are great , so is PDZ.

Thanks, Granny and Cap.

I probably should have started my medicine for flares last week but hoped it would settle on its own. It didn't but hope blooms eternal. If I could figure out what I did to irritate things I'd be happy but I didn't do anything this time so blame the weather change.

Hot soaks in Epsom salt water baths do help but we only have a shower. I'm about ready to bring the stock tank up and set it on the back deck....umm maybe not, I keep remembering the dead rat-zilla we found floating belly up in it a few weeks ago.

Usually takes me a few days to realize when Hashimotos is flaring up too.. Then it dawns on me.. A few days of Aleve sets things aright and I'm back in business.

I wish. Usually when the RA flares after a few days it will decrease but not completely fade away. Then it will rise up twice as bad to bite me on the bottom. That is when I'm running for the Medrol Dose Packs. Usually I go to the rheumatologist and he gives me a shot of steroids, a shot of Toradol and a Dose Pack to take home in case things don't settle down. Usually they do and dang! Do I ever get the house cleaning caught up! Plus house painting plus coop builds plus garden work....

With the Covid, the doctor gave me the dose packs with orders to use them if I need to.

@Granny Hatchet, I meant to comment about this earlier. Sosorry about your babies. What type of filtration system are you using? I was using corner box filters but was loosing baby fancy guppies the same way. Tried over the edge of the tank filters with same results. So I went to under gravel filters next and problem solved. I would find an occasional dead fish, usually a baby or youngster but given I wasn't loosing a lot of babies any more I chalked that up to death by natural causes.

I hated to doing back flushes with the system but it was a very efficient filter method.

If your pump is being too efficient there are little clamps you can get or make to go on your hoses to control the amount of vacuum and water flow. You might even consider using something like this to keep them away from the water flow created by the pump.

I used to make my own flow controllers for my water falls on my ponds but I'm cheap. Now I'd just go buy them, LOL.

My iron being low is good news. explains a lot including my heart.

Along with a lot of the other symptoms that you have been suffering from.

I had to use sublingual B12 complex while I was taking methotrexate for my RA. Nasty stuff :sickbut you do what cha gotta do, put on your big girl panties and deal with it no matter how distasteful the treatment is. :hugs

I would have much rather got the shots but they said no, try this first. My blood counts stayed good till they raised my dosage to the optimum level, my hair started falling out and I was so tired all the time that I was having to rest pulling my little wagon out to the coop. Yep, blood count was low. I stopped taking it at that time and they switched me to prednisone in pulsed doses.

So yep, been there done that got the t-shirt. If I wasn't already on cardiac meds for an arrhythmia it would have probably affected that also.
