Well all, all the boys are now soaking on ice. In the morning I will dry them off, and decide if they will go to freezer camp, or I make quail and dumplings.

Are they easy to cull? I'm such a sissy. I really need to start handling my own. I give mine away.

I'm referring to roosters though. I kind of wonder if quail would be easier.

Either one use the cones. i imagine a Rooster would be easier than a quall roo. As you can get your hand up it easier. More room. Whereas with a quail, you can only get a finger up it. That is why I spatcock them.

I am pleased I am nearly done changing the quail hutch into a brooder. Still have not gotten the older chicks out of my bathroom . That rooster is in the brooder I was going to put them in. Got some painting to do. If it weren't so cool, I would go work on it now.
