He is a beauty! Sorry, was. I need some blue or lavenders in my flock...I found him! Geeze don't know how I got so lucky.

He was onery. One day he decided to have a go at me feet first. He had grown a remarkable set of spurs on him even at a year of age. He was about 6 months old when this pic was taken.
So when he did the old 'I'm boss and you aren't' trick, I did what I always do and picked him up by his ankles. As bad luck goes, he somehow locked up his spurs and suddenly one broke off at the leg with a pop I could hear. When that happened, he froze, no more flapping no more squawking, no more, I'm boss and you aren't attitude. It was like 'oh crap! You ARE the boss!' and I never had a moment's trouble with him after that. I hated it when he died. He had sired one little pullet chick who lived to 3 months when she died from Marek's. Beautiful cross with one of my Welly's I think. She looked like a Creole and was the sweetest little girl.
Afterwards I found out that buff O's are highly susceptible to Marek's disease.
