Granny's gone and done it again

Hi Blue! Hi everyone! My day was tiring... fell asleep before I got to the end of the thread. I was awake before 5, couldn't get back to sleep, so put the lights on the tree, spend half the day decorating it, and happy it's done. (Pics later Granny!)

Rest of the day was not so great. The prolapsed serama had been doing well, seemed fine earlier, but a little later she was pressed into the side of the carrier in obvious pain. She was breathing hard and in distress, making heart wrenching little shrieks. I moved the carrier into the sun to keep her warm tried to convince myself that I should and could cull her. This is not an easy thing because I am a huge wimpy baby about it. I was getting kind of frantic, then she let out a big yell and I figured I had no choice... but she seemed better all of a sudden. Huh? Then I saw the egg. Poor thing had passed an egg! Certainly did not help the prolapse, but she wanted to go out with the other two and they all shared some scrambled eggs. I wasn't fine. Teary all day, sad I can't help her and not looking forward to the day.

:hugs I'm so sorry! I'm a big baby about culling as well. I'm assuming you've already tried Preparation H?

And if that wasn't enough, #2 went for a motorcycle ride in the afternoon and had a minor, low speed accident as he was pulling off the road to check a light that came on. He hit the perfect rut that grabbed the front wheel sideways, and off he came! :hmm He is fine, one bruised hip, but the motorcycle is not and he was 45 mins away and needed rescuing. Poor hubs had to leave work early (happened to be the one day of the week he had to go in to work), and he drove up and got the kid and the motorcycle home, all after dark of course.
Luckily for us we have a wonderful neighbor, well we have many wonderful neighbors, but this one in particular has a trailer perfect for towing motorcycles. He has leant it to us before. Now I want to get them something as a thank you. Any ideas?

Prep H also reduces swelling. I had a BBR hen that prolapsed straining to pass a too big egg. She got the egg out and the prep H got the swelling down so I could gently push the prolapse back in for her. Greased her up again and she has been fine since. She was a new layer and I think that had a part in her prolapsing.

Morning everyone. I wasn't around yesterday. DH got through his 'whittling' session without too much distress. The MOHS procedure got all the nasty on the first try. Doc was glad that they caught the lesion early. That is a lesson for us all. Don't sit around and see if s 'funky spot' is going to go away on its own. If it's funky, get rid of it.

And I just heard #1's alarm go off. We are making an early trip to the dmv. There is a problem registering his car. Paperwork from out of state is apoarently not up to CA standards, but they cannot seem to explain the problem in a way that anyone can understand. Not how I want to start my day, but #1 has ready been twice and I think he needs a lesson in how to be assertive, so that's what I am going to do.

CA already has several "strikes" against it, and dmv is one more. Thought I was too old to move, been here most of my life, but every strike and we think about moving more and more...

I'm so glad he's ok! :hugs Yikes, what a rough day you had! Baked goods are always a nice thank you. If they don't have chickens then eggs are also nice.

Yes, I managed to push it back inside a few times, but it will not stay. Might be her advanced age.

Glad the procedure went well for your DH.

Time to get ready for dmv.
Yay bureaucracy. :tongue

Rice Water Bright Foaming Cleanser. That's what I've been using in place of soap where it's needed. I also use homemade bar soap sometimes but lately it's been drying me out too much.
If you use the glycerin base, it won't dry out your skin. Glycerin is great for sensitive skin.
