Maybe the whole spur coming off will allow it to grow back straight. I think I would take the other side off now. Get it all over with.

No, not for me. Way too painful. Other than needing to trim them, the spurs aimed inward is great for the hens. Girls don't get hurt at all. We'll see how it grows out. Around here the valve is not good enough to get you in for an appointment... they ask you to put on a surgical mask instead. Valve is safe for person wearing it, but valve allows exhaled droplets to be vented out easily so dr or dentist or whoever is seeing you are at greater risk for being exposed to the virus.
