The hatcheries were having trouble keeping up with orders last year. I guess it's the same this year. More people staying home... chickens have become even more popular.

In my case it was the first time all 3 breeds would be available at the same time. Also Cackle isn't doing a lot of their "normal" bargan specials this year.

I figure making it in the crock will be a lot of fat.

the rice will swell and absorb some of the "juices" and so will the cabbage a little bit. I cook mine until the rice is done and the cabbage is tender.

NOT as long as you don't let it dry out. The rice might get a little 'mushy" (technical cooking term)

I have done it with both "regular and MINUTE rice" they both work BUT "regular" rice does take a VERY long time.
