Granny's gone and done it again

Mostly raw, but they're good in stir-fry too... little bit cooked but still crunchy.

Yes you did. We have terrible luck with lettuce. It's bitter most of the time or it gets hot and bolts overnight. :hmm Takes a lot of water too, but hubs never quits trying. I see he's got a few started out there now. Haha! Hope he won't be as disappointed as he was with the beets (never grew) and the radishes, which were so hot even he couldn't eat them.
sorry about that. What is "bolts"? Sounds familiar

I have never had BJG hens, only these two roos. Sorry. @Rooster Giddens , do you have BJG hens?
I made the mistake of looking at the breeds on Cackle hatchery website. Big mistake! So many nice sounding birds including white JG. sigh. Maybe in a few years when the oldsters are gone.

Did you see the thread about the 3 legged chick ? It came from Cackle
Sounds like a horror movie... "It Came From Cackle!"

There's a thread where someone got a pullet chick with 2 extra legs hanging off the back end. No way that someone sexed the pullet and didn't see the legs. They gave it a chance at least.
There's a name for the extra legs thingy... condition, whatever. Can't remember of course. 🤪

Just checked that thread... the chick also came from Cackle. The condition is called polymelia.
