If someone abuses animals don't they get slapped with a big fine or go to jail? I imagine vet bills for a sick or injured animal, or restitution for a dead one might be very prohibitive. Do you have cameras up?

NOPE no camera's and honestly not sure they would work as the entire farm is a "dead zone" where cell coverage is concerned. AND I would be hit with the fines and what not since they are my animals. One local almost lost his entire herd of 20+ horses as his live in help wasn't feeding them properly. State wanted to take all of his herd and the 30 years of specialized breeding he had put into his herd.

She told me the home births have been easier. Supposedly I was her hardest (sorry mama) and the one she had the most drugs with.

Well he never went and checked on his prize horses? This is why I can’t find anyone to watch my animals. People are just stupid.

are you going to give them treats or table scraps? Thats when they need grit. They need to learn to eat their chick starter before they start on grit because they will fill up on grit if they dont know better so maybe just offer grit once a week in small amounts unless you are giving them treats

After they've had grit for a few days I plan to introduce meal worms so I can start taming them a bit and teaching them my voice. This is typically what I do with my chicks. I need to start em kind of early because they'll be moving to the outside brooder probably in another couple of weeks, unlike my winter chicks who stayed indoors longer.

I am very close to the Ohio border. And Ky. too. My DH lived in Ohio for many years and my SD lives there now.
I was almost a 12 lb baby. hehee Talk about a hurting.
