I love the quail babies! Never had them but we did hatch out a nest of CA quail eggs when I was a kid. My dad was moving a compost pile with the tractor and destroyed the nest. 14 eggs and 12 hatched under a lightbulb, thanks to my mom. She had a knack for that kind of thing. Used damp paper towels on top to keep them from drying out. I got to man the spray bottle a couple of times.
They stayed around as they grew up... well, mom fed them! After a couple years the covy grew to over 80 birds. It was great! No pictures though. Only in my mind! :D

I do have a good enough CA quail picture, but I really like it and it took me a long time to take (it was cold and it took awhile for the quail to get closer). So I dont want anyone to steal it (I doubt that will happen, but still!) So, because I LOVE this photo (it was one of my first ❤️). I will screenshot it and scribble all over it. Not the best quality anymore...but Here it is!

I can't remember why she finally tossed the whole thing. I'll have to ask her and we can take a stroll down memory lane.
I am not a baker. In fact, I don't eat flour any more (or any starchy carbs). I do miss bread, but I don't miss the extra 50lbs I was hauling around.
My daughter just made me a new bread. It is so good. No carbs high protein.
