Granny's gone and done it again

I found if you put their feet in cool water it helps a lot. When it's very hot I put shallow pans of water out for them to wade in.
The problem is that we get much hotter here and real feel does not apply to chickens since they cool down differently from people.

I see this each summer when someone from other parts of the country see that it is going to be 110F with real feel of 110F and think it is the same as 90F with a real feel of 110f and they go hiking and die. This happened to a 60 year old in Death Valley a couple of weeks ago.

With the breeds I have here, the auto misting works well. They do need to have fresh water and shade too.

Of course I do not have to worry about frostbite and cold weather here!

Frustrated. Appts tomorrow way out into Jeffersonville. One the 9th one the 21,22,23,and now the 24th. Vet said they will give Nugget his shots and a pill for him to take at the groomers but they wont cut him. Price around $100.00 then groomer said between $55. and up.
Which one is for the GI doc? Hopefully tomorrow or the 9th. Three weeks is too far out.

Happy Wednesday!
The fog has returned. Ahhh, bliss.

The only downside to the cool day is that Fudge enjoys a nice warm dirt bath. This was yesterday. She hung out with me while I watered our puny garden.

The cool weather also confuses the cold blooded critters. Found this young gopher snake dead on the road. Such a beautiful creature. About 12"
Interesting ladder pattern on that snake, Wishing. Don't believe I have ever met one of those.
