Afternoon everyone
I set here this morning waiting for my doctor to call for a tele-appointment. Omicron is so bad here that you can't swing a dead cat by the tail without hitting somebody trying to hack a lung out from it. I figured I'd pushed my luck with being exposed to crap in general since September (where the woman across the hall from me in the ER had the big Covid) that I'd better lay low again until this latest variant died down.
He was an hour late then forgot what I had called about....a refill on my pain meds please. thank you.
Y'all are so lucky to have had your grandparents in your life. My dad's mom lived a thousand miles away in Pennsylvania and in all honesty wasn't a very likeable person. She gave my father up for adoption when he was 7 for reasons only she knew. They 'reconciled' later in life but there was never any real closeness.
My mother's mother died when my mom was 13. Funny story. She was a ummm well, she was a madam. Mom's stepmother was another cold distant person much like my paternal grandmother. My mom's dad was a child molester so mom kept us at a distance from them.
My dad's dad disappeared when my dad was little. Went out for a beer at the corner pub and never came back. All anyone can find to fill in the blank years was his death certificate.
I used to chew out my friends who would complain about having to visit their grandparents. What treasures they can be.
