Stud fees are $100 per goat for the boarding and $1 a day after that. A screen panel/blood test is required too. Very pricey IMO. Good news is that the goats are both doing really well with training. Chestnut became significantly wider recently. I have no doubt she will be able to breed this year (I also asked her breeder about it). Her dam has never had issues either, so I am very hopeful.

ugg. better now I guess. Tom stepped in dog poop and tracked it thru the house while I was gone. What a freaking mess. He acted like he didnt understand when I stuck the mop in his hand. He shoved it back and I shoved it back again so he got the hint. I scrubbed carpet til my cleaner was gone.
The ride was hard and long. Im glad Robert is better though.

Any goat can have issues. I really worry about first fresheners having one big buck kid. Not good. All 4 of my does are first fresheners this year. We had two give birth to twins, and two had triplets.
I only took one goat to the vet for pregnancy issues since i started with goats. Other than that, i have either been there or the goat instictively knew what to do. One goat, Socks, had triplets when i wasn't around. Looked like either one was still born, or it died because she didn't break the sack. I tried everything i could think of to revive that baby goat, but she had been dead too long. She was beautiful. Sad, but sometimes nature is like that.
