Yes, bursts of energy for relatively short periods of time. Then he naps. Lots of naps, then outside outside for potty.

Its like having a baby. I couldnt do that again. Star was easy. I took her out and showed her how its done and she never made the first mess til she was old.

I had a dog once years ago I couldnt house break. I tried everything. I whipped its butt and it got to where it would poop in the hose, come get me to show me then lay down to get a whipping. I gave her to someone more experienced. That dog haunts me.

In my experience, if a pup is not house trained by 3 months, it never will be. I had one like that too. It had to be either outside, or in its crate, or in hubby's arms. Could not have the run of the house, ever.

It was close to a year old. What I hate is that I whipped it. I know now that it doesnt help matters.

H2o, I went and bought a Snuggle Puppy after the pup's first night home. He woke up every 2 hours.
Snuggle Puppy has made a big difference. Thank you for the advice!
