I think it also has to do with the nutrition the egg had within itself before it was incubated. I know that since I have been feeding the Kalmbach 20% Flock Raiser feed I just don't have nearly the problems that I had before. It seems the chickens are overall more satisfied all the time.
If you don't have access to Kalmbach there should be another product that's similar.

I always try to get them interested in the food by spreading crumbles out on a paper towel or concrete paver and use my finger to mimic eating. Discrete crumbs are more of a target than a bowl of food. Gives them something to aim at other than siblings.

Well, vehicular wise, my wagon is tucked away in the shop (since the sunroof leaks...30 year old car problems), "rojo" has its engine out...but I wouldn't be driving it in this anyway since WINDSCREEN isn't properly attached and THAT leaks (hence mold), so I'm rocking the bronco while hubs takes "sketchybird" - which....the clutch is going out on. D'oh!

Drs visit went..ok. He still thinks I should have something done. So a CT..with a dye. Can't remember what he called it. When he heard they wanted me to do the stress test where they inject something to speed up the heart he says..yeah..no. That really cranks up the heart. He knows about my vestibular mess, now as I call it. It would set me back again. I'm still recouping from that Sunday in the ER. Also..finally..he put in for a CT for my inner ears. Won't show tumors like a MRI, but will show if there is fluid. That's what it feels like in there, hard to explain.

I like Kalmbach, I used it for my rabbits, pigs and goats. BUT my silkies didn't do good on it so I switched them back to turkey starter which has a higher protein %. That's what the polish are on as well since I already buy it.

You should be fine then. Is the heat lamp white light or red? Sometimes the red lamps make a difference as well, because everything looks the same.

Yes, first day of spring. My poor tulips coming up don't look the right color..the leaves are a dark maroon..instead of having some green in them. Hopefully they will pull through.
