Granny's gone and done it again

I found a can of Trappeys Tomatoes and Okra. Haven't tried it yet. Can says to just put it in a saucepan and heat It. Guess I'll try it that way.
Okra is one thing I never acquired a taste for. My dad used to grow it and ate it all the time. Tell me if the Trappeys is any good... maybe I can find him some.

All you have to do. You may want to chop up some onion in it as it simmers. If you like onion that is. Prepared from fresh I think would be much better.

When in school we got salmon cakes often. I liked them a lot but don't know how to make them. One day I'll research it and find out.
I pick the bones and skin out, add bread crumbs, milk, egg and chopped onion, form into patties and fry in a hot skillet in a little oil till browned. Serve with tartar sauce and lemon. DH makes a sandwich out of his. Good with sides like baked beans, corn on the cob, potato salad, garden salad.

I had forgotten about eating the bones at school.

Going in Friday for finding out about hips and knees. Hurts in my hips to walk as well as my knees. I really hope it is not a hip replacement. That would have me down for 12 weeks. I would have to trim the size of our flocks way down for my wife to be able to take care of them. She has enough problems packing an oxygen tank around with her as it is.
They have small portable oxygen generators now.

Who told you twelve weeks? My late MIL was not down that long with hers. She had three. She wiggled around too much after her second one and it didn't heal right so she had to have it done again. Six weeks, tops before she was driving and running around again.

She is waiting on the prescription for one. She's met the requirement using tanks. Soon as doc signs off she gets one. She had one once before but the company was not reliable and when she changed they only had oxygen tanks to start. Good and bad with both. Machines are loud sometimes. Hers was. Tanks are better in a church pew.
