Granny's gone and done it again

shelters only feed what they have to to keep the dog from starving. She probably has had a lot more food then she is used to with you. ❤️ change of diet effects it too
I dunno. I don’t think she was starving there and they did send me home with some of the food she has. Haven’t started mixing it with the food goose got yet - was giving her a little bit of time before I started the mix.
What are period poops?
When you’re on your period and get ginormous and oftentimes softer poops.

At the same time, the period hormones may stimulate muscle contractions in the intestines and bowels, which are close to the uterus, causing more frequent bowel movements. They also reduce how well the body absorbs water, making the stool softer and increasing the risk of diarrhea

Never noticed anything different when I had my period.

I think she has listeriosis. Often found in the soil. Hard to cure, but i started her on an antibiotic that is supposed to be effective against it. Giving her fluids by bottle regularly, and vitamins, electrolytes. If i had IV fluids, i would give her those too. If i took her to the vet, i am sure the bill would exceed what i could ever get for her. And no guarantee on the outcome.
Is this an adult goat, Cap? If she does have listeriosis, is there a chance the other goats in the herd have it, too? Is it contagious? I hope you can get her back to good health. I know she is in good hands.

A lot of 5hem drive them out to country and drop them off. Like they can kill their own food.
I have not seen a lot of that around here - those that do it seem to think that we who live in the country always have room for "one more," whether it's a dog or a cat. Or, in some cases, a box of puppies or kittens. It was much worse in NM, semi-feral dogs roamed the rez quite a bit. And got hit on the highway, sadly. Here, shelters only accept animals from city residents. If you live in the county and have to deal with a stray animal, you're on your own. Which often does not bode well for the animal.
