you like duck meat? I have only had it once and it was my cooking. blech..To be safe it looks like I need one drake and 6 hens from what I can find out. They come straight run only so l think 15 ducklings would give us the best of the drakes to choose from and the best of the hens for at least 5 if not 6.
My wife cooked one way back in the 60's. It was made into orange duck and it was excellent.you like duck meat? I have only had it once and it was my cooking. blech..
I know you need to cook them rare.I want Muscovy ducks because they are not supposed to be greasy like other ducks. I read somewhere that their breast meat is a lot like beef sirloin steak.
I tried so hard to pluck. It just wasnt hapening. I ended up skinning and it took all the fatDucks are very hard to pluck I'm told if you have to do it by hand. I have to add Dawn dish soap to the scalding water and then my plucker will pluck then just fine.
I don't like any kind of rare meat. I thing they can be cooked in our big electric roaster with vegetables and be well done after cooking at a low temp longer.I know you need to cook them rare.
