Look what I found in the back yard this morning... Death Cap mushroom. 4th one we've found this year. Dang things are spreading all over the state. Worried the dog will get ahold of one.

It's a double. 2 spores stuck together made an extra thick stem and 2 lobes for the cap.

Wish we'd find Chantrelles instead. Those are delicious. Not deadly.

We have mushrooms grow in my back yard. Dogs don't touch them. My kids go mushroom picking up in the mountains.

I pick mushrooms in the produce section where they have those good shiitake ones. Fresh on pizza is where I like them. If I had an underground cellar here I'd grow my own.

We had a homemade ham & pineapple pizza tonight. Extra nice made with some Honey Baked Ham. Thinking ahead not to remember the fresh mushrooms rather than the ones in the can.

Found another Death Cap today. This is more typical of how they look, sort of a sickly greenish yellowish stripey yucky look.

That is gorgeous! Should be on a calendar. I know the cardinal is the srate bird for several states, but I'm happy to say Missouri is among them.

Sunny is in heat. She is being a bug. Wants something ( boyfriend) but she doesn't know what.

All cars safely under carport or otherwise where they belong, thank the good Lord. We ate at Mia's, a Mexican restaurant. Good food and lots of it. I won't have to cook at least tomorrow!

Not much. Front moving this way making every bone and joint hurt. Rain and a high in the 40's tomorrow.

Have some eggs being delivered tomorrow for hatching some silkies. I've never had them before and need a few more pets. Some that will sit in my lap and sing me to sleep.
