Granny's gone and done it again

I tossed and turned to the early hours of the morning. Wife got me a dose of homemade cough syrup and I finally got a few hours sleep. As soon as the pets have been evicted to the outdoors I'm laying back down. I have a hen and roo that come in to the sun room out back at night to sleep. That little game hen has stolen our hearts and we can't risk a fox getting her during the night. She doesn't know what a coop is. She has never been a coop chicken. She was hatched by a totally free ranging feral type hen. She made a pet out of herself. She came to us like a puppy looking for a family. She is always a threat to land on you when you go outside. She has gotten a little boy crazy finally and has a beau so I bring him in with her at night. They get scrambled eggs at bed time and again for breakfast. They are not spoiled but just loved a whole lot.
This is what happens when you don’t own dogs, lol. Chickens as pets. I heard they make great pets. Ducks and geese also.

We adopted a pet duck once long ago. I think it was a hen but don't know. It was a white one with a yellow beak and feet. It was terrified of the lake across the street. I would swim out 30-40 feet with her and she always beat me back to bank an waddled as fast as the feet and legs could take her home. I may be able to have a duck pond here by moving a little dirt around to make a dam at the end of a natural water way that only runs to dump water beside the highway ditch. I have a lot of name chickens that I interact with during the day when the weather is suitable for my liking. Most of them always get a treat from my hand. They will have a run and weather proof coop soon. My little Honey game hen was trying to lay at the front door after I put her out this morning. I had made a makeshift temp box for her and 3 similar hens that run free 24/7 to lay in and she finally paid her rent there. I hate to do it but she is going to get a new beau. I have an Americana x game cross rooster that is just right to breed to her and the 3 Ancona girls. All four lay white eggs and the rooster may trigger a few blue genes in the egg color. He will definitely make some wild feather colors in the babies.

those men finally finished up at 2 pm today. Im so glad their gone . It was really getting on my nerves. They really worked their tail ends off. The whole house is sealed tightly. every nook and cranny. Underneath too. They went thru 24 cans of that expanding foam They did the water heater, the whole nine yards. They tested it all with their fancy fans too. latest estimated cost was over 12k. I got damned lucky. warranty for 1 yr with company and 10 yr manufacturing .
