Granny's gone and done it again

I had two figs planted but they just didn't want to grow and thrive. I may try one more time. I sure do like them and they are expensive fresh in the market places.
We have so many volunteers. I should mail you some plants

With a fig tree you can make Frog jam.

Yup. Looked at it about the wasp pollinator. I already knew all about that. I don't think all varieties are affected by the wasp. Some don't need it.
What is frog jame

Mail me some! Our little fig trees seem to die back each winter and come back from the root every year. What are we doung wrong? Are they too tropical fof oyr areas? They only get to be aboutc3.5' tall every year snd the fruit are a little bigger than a man's thumb.

I'm just getting started. When the crops start coming in I won't have time for much else. But it will be worth it next winter. I won't have to go to the grocery store as much and we will eat good!
And so healthy

Amish F.R.O.G. Jam
(Figs, Raspberries, Orange, Ginger)

Makes 5 to 6 8oz jars
5 cups dried figs (2 lbs), remove stems and quarter
2 cups orange juice
1 10oz bag frozen raspberries
1 Tbsp freshly grated ginger
1 cup sugar (more or less to taste)

Directions:
1. In a large SS pot add figs and orange juice. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer and cover. Cook until skins are soft and the seeds have been released (15 minutes) stir every few minutes.
2. Using a stick blender, puree the fig skins (or allow mixture to cool and then put in a blender and puree).
3. Add raspberries and ginger. Increase heat to medium and stir frequently. Cook until the raspberries have fallen apart and are well incorporated.

4. Add sugar to taste. Since there is no pectin in this recipe the amount of sugar doesn’t matter.
