$16.00 per hour

What is the minimum wage in California? Effective January 1, 2024, the minimum wage is $16.00 per hour for all employers. Some cities and counties have higher minimum wages than the state's rate
It's 16 here, but, fast food places and others are paying 20 to get workers.

WHAT??
As of January 1, 2024, the minimum wage in Utah is $7.25 per hour, which is the same as the federal minimum wage. This has been the case since 2008, when Utah's minimum wage increased from $6.55 to $7.25 per hour. Utah is one of several states with a minimum wage of $7.25 per hour, including North Carolina, Georgia, and North Dakota.

lol well next time I need to move something heavy I will hopefully keep that in mind
We used to have to lift the covered wagons to grease the axles. We carried a block of wood and something long, I don't remember what. Maybe a long pipe or maybe we unhooked the tongue of the wagon, I don't remember. The women would sit on the end of the long thing used as a fulcrum to lift the wagon and hold it up while the men slid the wheel off and applied a thick coating of grease. If we did not do that on a regular basis there was a danger of overheating and fire in the hubs of the wheels. Sometimes we'd take the wheels off and throw them in the river to make the wood of the wheels swell, otherwise they might dry out and the iron rims could fall off. Talk about a flat tire, that would be a disaster.
