Granny's gone and done it again

I sat down for a minute in my chair before going out and it turned into an hour and a half nap. Going to eat a sandwich and go outside. Ma got her a good nap in too.

No naps here. Too busy watching everyone else sleep I guess. lol
Kevin just came by and handed me a small loaf of Zsquash bread. He made from scratch. It was still hot and oh so good! He couldnt stay. On the way to a meeting he said.

When I took sulfa drugs I got powerful pressure headaches. Dr called it migraines. My worst triggers were smells, cigarette smoke, mold, onions, fried foods- I smelled what no one else did. Food triggers were foods that contained tryptophan,watermelon.Loud noise also triggered them. I took topamax and I don't remember the name of the rescue one but it was an addictive one. I'd get my words jumbled up and the harder I tried to think of words the worse the headache got.I felt like I had dementia. Some days I just felt like crying. I got blind spots on my eyes because it was blocking the flow of blood to my eyes. When my kidneys took a downward spiral, the hematologist said I need a bone marrow biopsy. I begged him to tell me whether it could be the sulfa drugs cause no other Dr believed me. After 10 years I had finally found a DR who listened. Long story short he has a GI Dr friend who got me off the sulfa. It took a whole month to subside after stopping the sulfa ... But Those migraines were gone. And I didn't need brain surgery to remove a cyst or a bone marrow biopsy after all. But to this day, I have very few memories of that era. I don't know what the house looked like that I lived in. People can talk about happenings, I don't know. My memories are silent .....
My heart goes out to people like you who are enduring migraines. Unless you've had them, it's hard to imagine just how debilitating they are

This sounds terrible. I had one when I was pregnant and all I remember of that day was rolling in the floor from pain . I had more after that. well, years later and they put me on meds for prevention but I was able to stop them and now once in a while I have a really bad one with aura coming first. shimmering lights. I am able to handle them though so Im not sure they are migraines.

I think so. She has just been super busy with canning and dehydrating along with freezing foods and helping with everything else on the farm. Got to go. Lunch has settled. Need to go out and make more work for her.

My neighbor came by to pay for the hen his dog got yesterday. He's thinking about getting chickens himself so I showed him my setup and gave him some tips. I also pointed out some areas where I need help and could really use a builder's help. I need more ventilation, for example, and my door is falling apart. He said, I could do that for you. What, really? He's coming over tomorrow to get started! I just have to watch his 4-yo son. No worries, I'll just put a movie on and feed him graham crackers and milk. And he said I don't have to pay him, but we'll see about that. This could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

l am allergic to sulfa and penicillin and one more blood thinning drug.

And to think, a lot dried fruit from the grocery store has sulfa as a preservative. They don't have to list it in the ingredients as long as they don't use more then a certain amount. Some people with sulfa allergies can't even tolerate that much. So remember if you have allergies, not everything has to be disclosed on labels

It sounds like a migraine. Thankfully you were able to get most of them stopped
