Granny's gone and done it again

My neighbor came by to pay for the hen his dog got yesterday. He's thinking about getting chickens himself so I showed him my setup and gave him some tips. I also pointed out some areas where I need help and could really use a builder's help. I need more ventilation, for example, and my door is falling apart. He said, I could do that for you. What, really? He's coming over tomorrow to get started! I just have to watch his 4-yo son. No worries, I'll just put a movie on and feed him graham crackers and milk. And he said I don't have to pay him, but we'll see about that. This could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
That sounds good. I am surprised he wants to get chickens with his dog around. Does he know chickens can fly?

Howdy Granny folks and happy Sunday!

Wasn't around much yesterday. My stomach was bothering me all day and I felt exhausted. I've probably eaten something it doesn't like. Now to figure out what it was so I can avoid another food. The good news is that I got on the scale this morning and weighed 117. Started weight loss at 147 so that's 30 pounds and holding!

Feeling better today so thought I'd check in and see how y'all are doing. It's 88 here, sunny, humid. Thunderstorms tonight. DH and I went out and picked up wood that we had missed post harvest. Wound up with two tractor bucket loads that we sorted out before it got too hot this morning.

Everyone having a good day and staying cool?

Congrats on the weight loss! I have been trying to lose as well. Down ten pounds so far. Not bad, considering I hurt my knee and can't seem to exercise much.
I have been trying to keep the buck goat away from the does. Should have named him holding! Still waiting on three does to kid. Then I plan to sell all of them. Just no energy to maintain it all.
Hubby is gone on vacation, and I have been trying do do jobs to make him feel better about my messy habits. It's hard with no energy and struggling with pain all the time.

Barely 5'2". Doctor wanted me to take medicine for my cholesterol and triglycerides and everything they gave me knocked me off my feet. He gave me two choices, try another drug cocktail or loose some weight and see if the numbers come down. That was almost 2 years ago now and my lipids and triglycerides were in range.

I want to weigh 117 with clothes on. My weight in my 20s. Doc said shoot for 125 for my age but I feel better lighter so we shall see.

I hear ya, cap. That was me yesterday. Neck is getting worse, when my stomach and colon act up my lower back hurts. The last thing I want to do is.....anything. I've kicked my pain meds up a bit which helps. Was doing them twice a day, now three times. Sigh. Doc said I could go to 4 times a day but in all honesty, they make my energy drain even more than usual.

I'm still trying to get the coops cleaned for spring...only one more to go and I have it about 3/4s done. Thankfully the roosters are tolerant of pig pens, lol but my shoulder is slowly healing and I'm hauling bedding out a bucket at a time. If only they would quit pooping so much.

I did manage to use the post pounder to set a T post this morning. Then couldn't get the danged thing off the post. DH told me not to bother. At least on the post we know where it is.

I try to concentrate on keeping the house tidy, the dogs and cats fed and helping hubby keep the lawn half way mowed. And hoping those house fairies show up to clean up the rest.

I think she mentioned before that he’s in the process of trying to rehome the dog or something like that.

I am trying to target small areas in the house, and outside to clean up that I am sure bother hubby. And things in my room that bother me. I still have some time before hubby returns from Canada.
And I decided some of my fatigue and discomfort is from giving up my green tea. It has some sugar and caffeine. I gave up chocolate again. So, with no caffeine, I have to drag myself around and sleep a lot. Back to caffeine boosters! I took a couple of headache pills yesterday ( they have caffeine).

@CapricornFarm, I forgot to say, those first 10 pounds are the hardest, those and the last 10. I've been struggling with the last ones for a year now. Dr told me that he thought I would be successful because I was really motivated.

That's true. I think towards the end I was seeing 4-6 ounces less per week. Thought I would never reach the first goal of 125. Now it's 2oz at a time. Sigh. I remember food......But in all honesty the only thing I have real trouble with is sweets which I need to avoid because of the triglyceride problems. I only do deserts on holidays and birthdays.

I forgot to say also, I DO feed the chickens. If I didn't they would sure let me know about it the little tyrants.

I read an article on the arthritis foundations site about dealing with housework when you have arthritis. They said to set goals and not try to do everything at once. For instant if you need to clean cupboards (which I need to do) only do one or two at a time, which I have adopted also. My big problem is getting up once I get down on the floor. Sometimes I have to call for DH to come boost me up or if I'm in the family room with the Cattle Dogs I call Rocki over and tell her 'Shoulder', then use her shoulders as a boost. I guess she is becoming my service dog as she braces herself for me.

DH tried it with her and he asked me how I got her to hold still for me because she won't hold still for him. I told him it was a girl thing.;)

I tried caffeine again and discovered that it raises my B/P and heart rate, plus makes my arrhythmia act up so it had to get crossed off the diet list. I miss it. It started to do the same thing to DH so we are a caffeine free zone. Which sux. Are you using APCs for pain? Used to love those things and the caffeine gave you an energy boost.

How is your CFS doing?
