My parents used very few English words in the every day life. Less English then most people do. I only knew please, thank you and bathroom (in English) when I first went to school. I learned real fast!

I probably didn't know much more than three English words either, but like you I learned quickly.

No. Heat yes but not moist.

Yes Dutch. Once there were several scholars who knew English, the younger kids would pick it up
