I think farms means that she spits them out when she puts them in her mouth. My Sammy is very gifted about spitting them out, even if I stick them way back there where I think he couldn't possibly. Cheese works for him, though.

The pills are big and square and she is the size of a cat. So I cut pills in 8ths. But she literally spits like a man, doesn't just drop it. Those big black eyes stare at me, her mouth stops moving and I think she swallowed it and all of a sudden it comes flying back out-all without flinching. Spits like tobacco juice. Between Cheddar cheese, bacon, fig newtons. Tidbits of the fatty pat of bacon works best cause it's pliable to wrap around a pill, small enough to swallow without chewing & Butchy Boy wants to steal it so she quick swallows. I always have a second tidbit without a pill ready to put in her mouth so she focuses on that. Even so, I haven't hit perfection. Counting down to the last pill-14 pills

As you hold his mouth shut and his nose pointing up, try blowing gently over his nose, or rubbing a little saliva over his nose to make him lick his nose. Once his tongue comes forward like that, the pill will be too far back for him to spit oout. You might also try dragging the pill through a little butter to make them too slick to spit out. That's if you're just popping the pill down.

Cheese works for me but if it ever doesn't, I would bury the pill in a one-inch length of hot dog. That would make a GREAT pill pocket! Oh the games we dog people play. Lol!

I think that is a good idea unless you have 8 pill pieces to get down, they catch on quickly and run away from you. She has to eat with the pil and I can't feed her first cause she eats very little or she will be too full for the pills. The other evening she must have gotten a bitter taste cause then she decided to stop eating altogether. I gave her a piece of duck jerky just so she has some food in her belly

Morning all, Had a hard time sleeping again last night. I cant figure out why because I am so tired. I hope everyone is good today. Housekeeper is late.

Morning all, Had a hard time sleeping again last night. I cant figure out why because I am so tired. I hope everyone is good today. Housekeeper is late.

I have found out there are so many things that can affect sleep and one of them is a hormone imbalance. Half the time we dont even realize what hormones are. Melatonin is a hormone and it helps us sleep. You can buy it to help sleep. Did you know insulin is a hormone? I found out low testosterone(hormone) can affect sleep. I had a problem sleeping and I didn't feel anxious. Found out kidney disease can affect sleep. If I don't take meds, I can't reach a deep sleep. I have nightmares and drift in and out of consciousness.
Did you know corticosteroids are a hormone? When you take Prednisone, your body slows down making it so you should never stop taking it faster then aDr tells you to. Your body needs to start making it again slowly or you can get sick.
But not being able to sleep is a really serious thing because it affects your ability to function during the day

Best to try and get the whole pill down her ay once instead of cutting it up. It's formulated for a cat, they know she is able to swallow it if you can just get it down her. Maybe ask the vet to show you how?
