Granny's gone and done it again

Best to try and get the whole pill down her ay once instead of cutting it up. It's formulated for a cat, they know she is able to swallow it if you can just get it down her. Maybe ask the vet to show you how?
It is made to be cut up. My pups arent food motivated. A whole pill is too big wrapped in food to swallow without chewing unless I open the jaw and drop it back in the throat and chewing it will be bitter. Put a hot dog on one plate and kibbles on the other plate and let them go until they are real hungry. They'll eat the kibble& not the hot dog. Most dog's will eat scrambled eggs or pumpkin, mine won't.
Butchy Boy had worms at 3 mos &after a pill, threw up& got diarrhea. He stopped eating& drinking& At 4 lbs he had no wt to lose.I ended up taking him to the vet. They are like that with all meds. I've learned it's best to give no other food so they get hungry& get it past their tongue the first time. I'm not comfortable opening up the jaw and dropping it down the throat. Maybe if Id see someone do it first.

Howdy all. Been spending the past three days battling Asian beetles. 4 days ago, I remarked on how much I love this time of the year. Today, I'm swearing about the invasion of these nasty stinky little fiends who like to bite you.

And please don't tell me how beneficial they are to the plant life and how they eat soooooo many insects. If you want, I'll catch some of the seemingly 1 million that are trying to break into our house for the winter and mail them to you. Just send me your name and address in a PM.

Seriously. We are having to vacuum the walls and ceiling on the inside of the south side of the house and don't dare open a door or window because they will either swarm you or squeeze through any tiny opening they can find in order to get inside. We caulk and caulk and caulk and the danged things are like little Houdini's.

Same if you go outside. They swarm you if you happen to walk in the sun. I'll be glad when we have a good freeze again so I can start sweeping up the tiny red and black spotted corpses once and for all.

Think it's a sign of a cold winter coming? Our do you always have them every fall?

No, we go through this every fall after the first freeze which we had last week. I've laid in bed at night reading from my Kindle and had the little S.O you know what's fly in my face. If you touch them they emit this really foul, musky smelly fluid.

When we moved here on 09 we quickly learned that everything in Missouri either sticks, bites, stings or gives you a rash. Kind of like seeing a cute little animal that rises up suddenly and has 3 inch fangs that it sticks into your leg.

Had one fly in my mouth yesterday on my way out to the coop. I was not pleased.

I did find where they were getting in that window screen and caulked it up yesterday. They were squeezing in around the side frame of the screen so I caulked the whole screen in around the edge. I'll be cutting it out when the day comes that we have to replace it but if it keeps the little boogers out I'll deal with it.

Right now there are about 50 on the bedroom ceiling. less than yesterday so I'm hoping I've thwarted their way to get in between the window and screen and then into the house. Tomorrow I need to get the caulk gun out again and caulk around the trim work around the windows in the bedroom and living room on the inside.

That sounds horrible!
Are they like stink bugs, if you vacuum then up, your vacuum cleaner will forever emit a stink?

I have taken low dose Prednisone for more years then I can count
I assume the Dr is prescribing it out of necessary and glad it's a small dose.
I came to hate that drug because it seems most of the problems DH is dealing with is in some way connected to long term steroid use. But it was a large dose and back in the 60s and 70s they didn't have other drugs to control Crohn's.
They have newer kinds of steroids now that didn't have as many side affects. Budesonide is the one they give me now to control a flare.
Prednisone is better then no treatment!

Oh ya. I spray perfume into the shop vac to keep the stench down. Oh. There is one of the little monsters crawling across my computer monitor now.

As for the pred. Even a small dose over time can eat away at your bones. Not to mention cause cataracts, glaucoma and a host of other nasty little things. Better to pulse the dosage.

Okay guys, I need your help. Any of you have carpal tunnel syndrome? For about a week now my fingers of my left hand on the palm side have been pins and needles and at times numb as in dead to the world. It kept waking me up for a few nights even if I didn't have my hand kinked around like I usually do when I sleep. I can't figure out if the problem is TCS or if it is with the foramen narrowing and arthritis I have in my neck. I have been wearing a wrist brace at night and have been able to sleep better but what's weird is that if I shrug my shoulder up to my ears, the tingling eases off.

If you have had TCS, is this how it acts or do I have a pinched nerve in my neck causing it? I see the doc next Monday but would like to have an idea about what is going on with me...this time.
