I leave it off. I salt it for myself but not for the critters. That's about all I used. You could if you wanted to though. So veggie ends and herbs should make it better and better for you. Just make sure to strain it good.Lid on or off, Granny? I'm fixing to do a batch pretty soon. I have several spines from some birds I spatchcocked, plus some bones I've hoarded from soups. I have a nice deep soup pot and can put it on to simmer all day or overnight. Do you season it?
