Granny's gone and done it again

Unless we are going to town or non family company is coming Ma doesn't seem to know where she left her bra. She sees no sense in wearing one. No cats here and no plans for one or a dog. I'd like a LGD that could patrol at night and keep raccoons & foxes gone. Then again it would cost so much more for feed and vet bills it's just not worth it. Predator proof coops are cheaper to build.

I need a nap. Trying to stay up to 11 and take my meds then. Had to give in and take the mid day pain meds at 3:30 so more until 11. Sometimes I just go to be without them and take them if I wake up during the night. I bent over picking up eggs off the ground in the Legbar coop. Can't get those silly girls trained to use the nest box. It's got eggs in it in full view with the red curtain removed on 2/3 of the front and they still refuse to use it. I think I will try removing it from the coop wall and put it against the wall on the ground and see if they will go into it and lay on the other eggs. When RIR and Delaware girls had these they took to them like scratch feed.

When we lived on the east coast of FL for awhile there was a nice meat market on the outskirts of town where one side of the road was woods and houses and shops were on the other. The lady that ran it was lamenting the fact that she could no longer mow the grass topless. At one time they were living in a wooded homestead with no neighbors for miles and the town slowly moved out to take over their privacy.

I swear my cats are out to get me! Last night I left my bra on the couch - sometimes you just want to get comfortable, right, ladies? And this morning Sylva was rolling around in it like it was a catnip toy! Honestly, does she KNOW I'm allergic???

When I want to get out of my harness, I just go get in my jammies. I guess that wouldn't work for @Granny Hatchet.

wonder if it would help if you put them in it after they went to bed Or would they fly out breaking a leg......

I don't know how you would train a hen to a nesting box if they don't go there on their own. Mine have always opted for them. Well, not always. There is the occasional egg on the floor or out in the middle of the run. I figure that's when an egg snuck up on one of the girls.
