I took care of a home bound patient that was on oxygen and continued to smoke. One day the cigerette caught the oxygen on fire and burned his face very badly. Lucky for him someone was standing nearby and put the fire out before he was burned to death. He was badly scared and damaged his lungs. He died within a few months. I'm very careful with my oxygen tube and sometime remove the nasal cannula when I'm cooking.I knew a lady who was on oxygen, had lines running all over the house.
She still smoked. Gave me the willies, it did, but ... she never blew herself up.![]()
